We are proud to introduce you to our cat care society called l’Ecole du Chat de Bordeaux and based in Bordeaux, Gironde, France. This organization exists in its current form since 1999.

"We trap, spay/neuter, and tattoo feral cats before releasing them back on the site of capture..."

  We trap, spay/neuter, and identify (tattoo) feral cats. We then return them back to their living site and have volunteers feed them. These carers also let us know if a cat needs particular attention or if a new cat joins the group. This limits the increase of the cat population in the wild, provides an effective protection against malnourishment and disease, and also offers the other advantages of neutered cats.

  Various cities, hospitals and companies call us as they have many feral cats on their properties; they have understood that killing them is not a solution as others would take over the emptied territories. It is a sign of hope for us: the right message starts spreading slowly.

"We offer sociable cats and kittens for adoption in exchange for a donation..."

  We do not own a shelter, but we take care of kittens and cats found in the street and which are sociable. We give them a chance to live a better and safer life than the one they were destined for. All our cats are scattered in foster families, which means that we are limited In the number of cats we can take care of and that we rely on people’s generosity.

"We need to raise funds..."

  We need help in order to protect defenceless cats that rely on us to be able to live peacefully in a safe environment. Spayed, neutered and tattooed, they consequently gain a real status of “free cat” and benefit from the protection of our organization (they cannot be put down as their tattoo protects them). Citizens also benefit from the results of this action as it is well known that the proliferation of feral cats may cause health problems for both domestic cats and humans; stabilized and cared for cats’ populations allow the establishment of a healthy environment.
